Sara Strong was born and raised in the Upper Lower Peninsula of Michigan near a little town called Petoskey. During her childhood, she remembers making forts in the woods with her siblings and sleeping on the back porch among a canopy of illuminating stars on warm summer nights. Sara and her sister were constantly creating: contraptions, mini-sewing projects, and beaded jewelry. As a result of her childhood, these memories fuel Sara’s desire to paint and tell her story.
After High School, Sara continued her education by moving to Kalamazoo, Mi to attend Western Michigan University. During her time at Western, she met her lifelong sweetheart and participated in almost 30 exhibitions, three being solo shows. In 2005, she graduated with a Bachelors of Fine Arts and a minor in Business.
Immediately after graduation, Sara rented an art studio at the Park Trades Center in Kalamazoo’s downtown. Since then, she has held three solo exhibitions and continues to paint and work toward upcoming shows. To get the latest information on Sara’s art visit her blog.
