Sara offers private art lessons for children ages 6-18. When Sara was a young girl, she remembers when her Aunt and she would work on art projects and the trips they frequently made to the local art gallery. This time was very important to Sara because her parents weren’t involved in art and this exposure was what sparked her interests that lead her to a career in art.

Sara feels it is important to pass this gift to other children especially since so many schools are cutting art programs out of their budget. Art making can help build a child’s self esteem and improve their creative thinking skills by using the often-neglected right side of the brain. She especially feels able to connect with young girls who may be dealing with confusing times and can offer encouraging words and support throughout the lessons.

Sara’s number one goal is to encourage young budding artists to follow their dreams like she did. If they are passionate about being creative or want to focus on one particular artistic medium, she will challenge them and help them excel in that area. Sara wants to serve as a positive role model for her students and show them that they can do anything in this world.

The average rate for private lessons is $25 for one hour plus a minimal cost for special materials (canvas, large paper, etc.). Sara enjoys teaching both drawing and painting and can work with more than one child at a time if needed. Please call 231-642-7587 for more information.
